My Oversized Improv Sweater

Well, if you’ve been following along closely with me on Instagram, you might already know that this sweater ended up to be much more of an effort that I’d anticipated. I spent a long time dreaming up the idea, and I cast it on late last year, but I’ve only just got around to finishing it, which is quite unlike me. It all went wrong around January time, when I was looking at my progress, and how much yarn I had left, and I was pretty sure I had a problem. There definitely  ...

FEATURED, PATTERNS

Pattern Testers Required!

Something terribly exciting is happening… I’m working to release my first garment pattern! It was one of my goals for this year, so I’m really happy that I’m working on it and hope to achieve it soon. It’s my first attempt at writing up a pattern for different sizes, so I’m feeling a little nervous but I hope I’m on the right track! Which brings us to the point at hand – I’m looking for testers! Here’s what you need to know: The  ...

KNITTING UPDATES

March Knitting Update

Can you believe this is my first knitting update of the year, already three months in? I’m only coming to this now, because I only now feel like I’ve achieved anything, knit-wise. It was a slow start to the year for me on project progress, but I’m over the hill now, and I’m excited for all of the good things that are to come in the future. Before we think about all of that, though, let’s take a look back at the last few months and what knits I’ve been  ...

Vestigial Socks in Joanie Unravelled Grey-Dient

When my lovely friend Kate at Joanie Unravelled gifted me a skein of her beautiful hand-dyed yarn, I knew I had to make something great. The colourway is the perfect grey-dient which represents my personal style to a T – it was a match made in heaven! Of course, I just had to make a pair of socks! I’ve knit a few pairs of socks in my time, but I’ve always found that the fit has been a little off, and they’ve ended up being cosy socks instead of every day  ...

The Puffer My Size

I finished this Puffer My Size back in December, and it’s already become an absolute staple in my wardrobe. I found the pattern by Ministrikk on a long Ravelry-scrolling afternoon a good few months ago, and it sat on my make list eagerly waiting for me to purchase the yarn and get cracking. It’s knit from super chunky yarn and, as such, works up pretty quickly. It did feel like the body went onΒ forever but once it was finished and I realised that all I had left to knit was the  ...

2018 Knitting Goals

It wasn’t until I posted my 2017 review on Instagram Stories that I realised just how much I’d done last year! My memory is notoriously poor, so it was a good reminder of how far I’ve come, and just how I got here! There were way more frogged projects than I’d expected, but also some of my all-time favourite knits, so that’s a pretty good balance if you ask me. Now I’m looking forward to 2018, and I want to set some intentions. I’m not going to be  ...
