Diana Headband by Kari-Helene Rane

I have to be honest and say that this post has been a long time coming, but you’ve got to agree that it’s better late than never! If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you might have seen that I took my first ever foray into cables back in August. Cables are something that I had wanted to try for a really long time, having requested, and gratefully received, some cable needles last Christmas. Like quite a lot of new skills in knitting, though, they seemed  ...

Third Time Lucky with Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK

You might have seen the high neck and v-neck cropped vests that I knit from Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK in charcoal earlier this year. Both were original designs that I worked up myself, and both were really successful. I was able to get the shaping that I wanted in my pattern-writing, which I see as a huge win! However, while each of them turned out kind of how I wanted, they were both lacking something in terms of fit. The high neck vest was too large around the back, and I found myself  ...

Dream Blanket Knitting Pattern

If you follow me on Instagram, you’re probably bored of me harping on about my dream blanket by now! It’s been in my feed for a pretty long time, and I covered it in my last two knitting updates, too. However, it really is justΒ that good. September Knitting Update

Well hey there! It’s been a little while since I’ve given an update over here, and even though that’s the case, there’s not a huge amount to report. My knitting progress has been a little slower over the past couple of months as I’ve focused on one project at a time and allowed myself to prioritise other things over my knits. I struggled for a while with how to balance my love of knitting with my desire for minimalism, but I quickly realised that it’s all  ...

STORIES

KNITTING AND MINIMALISM

I’m not sure that I would yet call myself a minimalist, but I am most definitely inspired by minimalism as a concept. My journey with minimalism started in my wardrobe, as I expect lots do. I experienced all of the “I have so many things and yet nothing to wear” debacles for a number of years, often clearing out some items (mostly fast-fashion that was no longer ‘cool’), and thinking I’d done a good job, only to find myself right back where I started not  ...

July Knitting Update

Phew, is it seriously August already? I honestly don’t know where the time’s gone this month, but I definitely feel like I’ve been productive! If you follow me over on Instagram, you might have noticed that I’ve not been as active as I often am, but I’ve definitely been putting the work in offline. I’m still deep into my yarn de-stash, and that’s been my number one priority this past month. I’m so determined to get through it all, so that I  ...
